iPsy bag time! Woohoo!
Last month, I was fairly critical of the bag that I received. Small samples that did not seem to be chosen thoughtfully combined with slow shipping made me (and many others) an unhappy camper. However, I was optimistic about the September bag and was not disappointed with what I received.
Let’s get into it!
Shipping was slooooow as usual, but the products definitely made up for it. First of all, I love the bag that it came in. I think it is perfect for fall and is very consistent with the “Street Style” theme of the bag. I like how it’s a little edgier than some of the other bags I received, too. Overall a win!
The first product that I received this month was the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! deep conditioning mask for dry, damaged, or chemically treated hair. I haven’t tried this one out yet, but it looks like it holds some promise. I really appreciate the fact that iPsy threw a hair product into the mix that was not a hairspray or beach spray. While I love those, it’s nice to get some variation! This mask has a nice clean scent to it, and it’s a great sample size. I could definitely get three or four uses out of this. A full-sized product runs $26.00 for 5.25 oz. This sample, 1 oz, is worth $4.95.
The next lovely product is the Nourish Organic Moisturizing Cream Face Cleanser with Cucumber and Watercress. When I first received this, I was a little disappointed because I initially thought it was a moisturizer. However, I took the time to actually read the label (always good to do before making assumptions) and found that it was a cleanser instead! I am a hardcore user of Philosophy Purity cleanser, but I really liked the fact that this one is 100% natural and USDA-Certified Organic. I’m not a huge fan of the scent (it kind of just smells like plastic), but it gets all of my makeup off without wrathfully burning my eyes out. A full size is 6 oz and $13.99. This sample is 1 oz, worth $2.17.
This product was definitely my least favorite, but merely because I never use silica based setting powders ever, really. This is the Bombshell Smooth Criminal Powder, which is your basic setting powder akin to the likes of the Make Up For Ever HD Powder. Just be careful if you do decide to use silica powders like this, especially if you are going to be photographed – the light will reflect off the powder, making you look like a close relative of Casper the Friendly Ghost. I do really like the packaging though, it reminds me of Barbie! This is a full-sized product (4 grams), which will run you $12.00
This next product is tied for my favorite! This is the Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Stick in Make a Mauve. It is a gorgeous plummy mauve cream blush that is perfect for fall. I have been wearing this non-stop since I received in this month. The color is pigmented when you swipe it (the non-blended picture is one swipe), but you can blend it effortlessly to give a natural effect. This blush stick also has a bit of shimmer to it. It doesn’t make you look like a disco ball, but it adds a pretty sheen to your cheeks. This is full-sized, and it retails for $7.99 at Target (though it is available pretty much anywhere that sells drugstore brands). Love!
The last product is also the other tie for my favorite product of the bag. This is the Pacifica 7 Free Nail Color in the color Red Red Wine. The Pacifica line of nail polishes are 100% vegan and cruelty-free, which is always awesome to hear. The polish also claims to be long wearing and fast drying, which I can agree upon wholeheartedly. The color is GORGEOUS for fall. It’s a berry wine color that is opaque with just one coat. I would say it dries within a minute, but I’m paranoid so I always be sure to let them sit for an absurdly long period of time. This is a full-size, and it will run you $9.00.
Overall, this bag was head and shoulders above the previous month’s one, and I am genuinely excited to continue testing out each of these products! Coming next week is my Reign Get the Look, where I’m going to gush about yet another one of my favorite TV obsessions. Thanks for reading, and have a great week!
