An Update Moment – Sephora VIB Haul 2014

I made a post last week about my Sephora wishlist for the 2014 VIB sale. Well, the sale has come and gone, and now I am going to show you a sneak peak at what I got! I will be posting reviews of everything I purchased within the next couple of days.

First thing, though, did anyone else have a crazy time placing their order? Last year I was right on at midnight and was able to get everything I wanted, so I figured that would be a good game plan this time around. Sephora clearly had it out for any beauty junkie anticipating the sale because the website was down about thirty minutes before midnight and all through the next day. I was monitoring Twitter to see if there were any updates from Sephora and from the looks of it people were pretty frustrated by the hold up. Ain’t no thang, though, because nothing really sold out immediately so people were still able to get their fix and spend their life savings.

If it weren’t for the fact that the closest Sephora to me is inside a JC Penney’s, I probably would I have just shopped in stores (although I am always amazed of how many brands they can fit in such a tiny space). I ended up waking up randomly in the middle of the night and just decided to see if I could even access the site. Turns out I could, and I quickly placed my order. The site went down again not too long after that, so I’d say I got lucky. 🙂

Shipping was pretty standard; I received it yesterday after the LONGEST DAY EVER at school, so it was nice to come home to a Sephora box full of goodies on my doorstep.

Anywho, here’s what I got!

1. Sephora Inside JC Penney Cleansing Ritual To Go. While I placed my main order online, I decided to pop into my local Sephora after work this past weekend looking for the NARS Audacious lipstick in Audrey, which was sold out online. While the Sephora Inside JC Penney branches do have quite a few brands to choose from, lack of space prohibits them from carrying the full ranges of anything. Needless to say, they didn’t have Audrey. However, as I was on my way out, this bad boy caught my eye. I believe this is exclusive to the JC Penney stores only, but Sephora has a similar one online here. This offers samples of three different cleansers, as well as a skin treatment. Best part? It was only $16, and that was before the 20% off!

2. Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 in Tulip. This was on my wishlist, and I knew for a fact that I wasn’t leaving this behind. I have one of these lip balms in Plum, which is a pretty plum-brown, but I wanted one that was a bit lighter and brighter that I could wear to class in the mornings. I really like easy products that add color so you don’t look like a zombie, but that also aren’t heavy or needy. This is a perfect product for when you only have five minutes, but you still want to look presentable.

3. Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows. These were not on my wishlist, but they caught my eye after reading so many reviews on how awesome they are. One of the shades I wanted, Taupe Platinum, was sold out, but that’s okay. I picked up Slate Pink, Crème Brule, and Crystalline Papaya (which is not at all papaya-like, but still gorgeous). I’m posting reviews on everything throughout the rest of the week, so I won’t give anything away, but they are as amazing as everyone says. They’re also a great deal: They retail $21 each, but if you buy three plus the storage case (they individually come in a disposable plastic case; the trio cases are only a buck each and are fantastic, fantastic quality), then the whole thing is just $44.

4. Sephora Favorites Glitz & Glam. This appears to be sold out online currently, so I would check your local store if you are interested in snagging this one. Sephora comes out with these miscellaneous sets each year, and I normally don’t buy any of them. They do make great gifts, though, because they include a wide range of products for a decent price. This is the first set that really caught my eye because it includes some products I’ve been dying to try like the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Rose Gold, one of the Stila Magnificent Metals shadows, the Lancôme Artliner, and a Deborah Lippmann nail polish. I can’t wait to try it all out.

I also picked up some Christmas gifts for various people, as well, which I’m not going to show on here because no one likes ruined surprises. 🙂

On another note, did anyone see the 200th episode for Supernatural? If you haven’t, I won’t spoil it for you other than saying it was fantastic and hysterical.

Thanks for reading!
