Greetings ladies and gentlemen, it is time once again for the Boxycharm review! Boxycharm is a $21-a-month beauty subscription service that guarantees four full-sized products and one deluxe-sized product in each box. I started subscribing last month and was so impressed that I decided to continue! Boxycharm offers a wide range of higher end brands, too, which is awesome.
This month’s box was all about spring and St. Patrick’s Day! This is the second month that I am really pleasantly surprised by the samples that I have received. If you are looking for a box to subscribe to, I would definitely choose this one over ipsy.
The first product in the box this month is the Previse Skincare Nutrify Tonic. When I saw this in the box, I had nooo idea what this does. Honestly I’m not the best at skin care (even though I should be more conscious, oops!), but I am excited to try this. The bottle describes it as an “oil free tonic infused with antioxidant rich daisy flower extract and hyaluronic acid to help lighten and brighten skin.” The website says it helps fight free radicals and pollutants, plus skin irritants that may be in makeup. I did apply this once before bed and I will say I woke up with considerably less dry skin. The bottle is heavy duty glass, too. It’ll be interesting to see how this does on the long-term. This is a full-sized product worth $48 (!!).
The deluxe product for this box is the Oscar Blandi Hair Lift Thickening & Strengthening Mousse. I’ve never really played around with mousses, so this will be cool to try! It says that it’s great for volume, which I always need, so that’s a plus. 🙂 A full-size costs $23, and this is worth $11. This will be a great product to take to the beach when I go in June!
Next we have the OFRA Eyeliner in Black. I received an OFRA eyebrow pencil a while ago in an ipsy bag, and I LOVED it. It was creamy and pigmented, and it lasted forever. I’m a little more meh about eyeliners because I don’t tend to wear them enough. This is especially true with black eyeliners, because I feel like they can be a bit harsh. But, there are times when I like some definition at the outer corners of my eyes. I think this will work nicely for that. It is a smooth, pigmented pencil that doesn’t tug on the skin. This is full-sized, and will run you $13.
If there is anything in my collection that is lacking, it is spring nail polishes. I tend to hoard dark colors for the fall and winter, but I forget about the brights and the pastels. This LVX Nail Polish in Deco is PERFECT. It is a gorgeous peachy-pink that will work well on the fingers and the toes. The bottle says it is vegan and chemical free, which is an added bonus. I will have to test its wear, though, because polishes tend to not last very long on me. This is full-sized, and retails for $16 (which I would never pay for a polish by itself).
This last product is easily the highlight of the box. This is the Tarte LipSurgance Natural Lip Tint in Charmed. For starters, the name is adorable. Get it – charm like lucky charm for St. Patrick’s Day as well as Boxycharm?! I thought it was cute. And getting Tarte anything in a subscription box is exciting, but the fact that it is a LipSurgance is the best! These are incredible. I’ve owned four or five from Christmas sets before this one, and they are truly great. If you are looking for a pigmented, yet moisturizing lip stick made from natural ingredients, the Tarte LipSurgances are your ticket. This particular one is a pretty light color, perfect for days in spring and summer. It wears comfortably on the lips for a couple of hours before leaving behind a stain, which can be removed easily. This alone pays for the box, retailing for $24.
Overall, I’m completely impressed with Boxycharm. Did you received one this month? Let me know your thoughts!
Have a great week and thanks for reading,
