Today I am bringing you a review of the Walmart Summer 2015 Beauty Box! This box is only $5.00 (technically it’s free and you pay shipping, which is always $5) and ships quarterly. Here is my review for the Fall box!
I had major expectations for this box after my absolutely pathetic winter box. It was so pathetic that I didn’t even bother making a post about it because, honestly, the value wasn’t even $5.00. I received a travel size of some shampoo, a travel size Dove body cleanser, and a sample of Lady Gaga’s Fame perfume. It was seriously disappointing and I told myself that I would try one more box before unsubscribing if it sucked.
But when I felt how heavy the box was as I pulled it out of the mailbox, I knew this was going to be a good one.
I received a total of five products, plus some paper samples which I didn’t include. Two full-sized products were a pleasant surprise!
First is the Vaseline Intensive Care Healing Serum Radiance Restore Lotion. Other than being a mouthful, it’s full-sized! This lotion smells lovely, isn’t greasy, and feels very nourishing. I typically don’t like lotions, but this one is very nice.
Next is a sample of the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Boosters Facial Cleanser. I am always looking for new face cleansers and enjoy trying them out. This is the perfect size to take on a weekend trip.
Following is the Aveeno Protect + Hydrate sunscreen lotion. I really enjoy Aveeno products because they are natural and feel light on the skin. While this isn’t a face sunscreen, that’s what I’ve been using it as. It’s the perfect size to toss in your bag for emergencies. The formula isn’t greasy, which is a plus.
I’m not a huge fan of perfume samples only because I am so picky about what scents I like. However, it is cool to see a drugstore brand oriented box throw in some more interesting samples. This is the One Direction You & I perfume. Notice Zayn is on the packaging, which is probably ironic and heartbreaking at the same time (I guess). This is a floraly/citrusy scent that I don’t mind. I probably won’t end up purchasing it, but the bottle also looks neat.
The last product is my favorite. This is the Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer in Out of This World, which is a beautiful cool pink with shimmer. It’s the perfect mauvy-every day lip color and I’ve been wearing it ever since I got it. I own other colors in this formula too, which is a mix between a gloss and a liquid lipstick. They’re tacky enough to stay on your lips without being uncomfortable. This was a major win for me!
All in all, I’m thrilled with my summer box. I think it was a great selection of products, all of which I will use. I hope they keep it up for the fall box!
