A Boxycharm Moment – September 2015

Hello everyone! I hope you all have had a wonderful week. It’s been another crazy busy one for me so apologies for the lack of posts.

But I’m back tonight with a review of this month’s Boxycharm!

If you are unaware, Boxycharm is a monthly beauty subscription service that offers 4 to 5 full-sized makeup, skincare, nail, etc. products each month for only $21.

This month’s theme was Runway Ready, perfect for New York Fashion Week! This box pretty much focused on basics with a twist, which was right up my alley.

The first product I received is the Previse Hydromilk Moisturizer. I don’t have a great moisturizer right now so I was thrilled to receive this in my box this month. It also pairs nicely with the serum that Boxycharm sent a few months ago. I like how they continuously send skincare from the same brand so you can build a regimen, but if you don’t like the products then that’s a downfall. However, this moisturizer is light, unscented, and doesn’t irritate my skin that tends to be more sensitive. I really enjoy using this! This retails for $48.

The next product, which was actually a bonus product this month (!) is the Kardashian Black Seen Dry Oil. Can I just say: Ugh, the Kardashians. I really don’t see why everyone likes them because they don’t actually do anything beneficial for society. I haven’t tried this product yet, but I will test it out soon. It’s an oil that you can put in your hair to make it smooth and shiny. Even if I did like it, I probably wouldn’t ever purchase it because I wouldn’t feel right giving them more money. A full size retails for $16.49 at Ulta.

The Chella Eyebrow Defining Gel was the next thing I pulled out of my box. I’ve been using Covergirl clear mascara as brow gel for so long and it’s nearly ran out. I hate spending money on little basics like that so I am SO glad this came. It’s your typical clear brow gel, nothing exciting. But it works well without making your brows look like they’ve been hit with hair spray. This retails for $18.

Boxycharm sent a Vasanti brush a couple of months ago that I’ve really loved so far, so I was pretty excited to see another one in this month’s box. This time around, it’s a foundation brush. Now, I don’t actually wear foundation, but I do wear concealer occasionally. Because I don’t wear foundation, I don’t have any brush that’s good for applying products like that. But now I do! This brush will be great for those days when I need a little concealer to help me out. This retails forย CA $32.

The next product is the Scratch Nail Wraps in the pattern Lacework. These are so much fun! They’re basically like any other nail wraps / nail stickers that you would use, but these seem to apply much easier. Not to mention, the pattern is really cool. They have an awesome art deco pattern to them with gold foil details. They didn’t last particularly long on me (I worked the next day so they chipped off immediately), but if you aren’t hard on your hands then you can probably get a significant amount of wear out of these. I would definitely order some more in the future! These retail for $12.

The last product is my absolute favorite of the box. It’s the Tarte Skinny SmolderEYES in Emerald. This eyeliner is so creamy and so pigmented, I would literally order the entire collection if I had the money. It applies so smooth and even without having to tug on the lash line. Not to mention, the color is perfect for fall. I’ve been wanted a deep emerald-colored liner for a while now, but I didn’t want to splash out because I wasn’t sure how much I would wear it. I’m so happy I waited! This retails for $19.

Hope you guys enjoy!

I will be coming back with another post toward the end of the week. Have a great week!

xoxo Rebekah
