A Beauty Review Moment – Sephora in Paris

Hi everyone!

I’m back tonight with another beauty post from Paris! This time it’s all about the Sephora on the Champs-Elysees.

I didn’t get the chance to grab pictures of the store itself, because let me tell you, that place is crazy. It’s the biggest Sephora I’ve ever been in, and unlike America, it houses pretty much every beauty brand under one room. There are MAC counters, Chanel counters, an entire section dedicated to bath products – basically everything a girl into makeup could hope for.

I didn’t pick up too much for myself because the majority of what was available there is the same as Sephora in the U.S. It was also much pricier, so I didn’t want to shell out for something I can buy cheaper five miles from my house.

But, they did have a few exclusive products and brands, and that’s what I’m here to show you today!

The first of only two products I grabbed was from Laduree. Now, typically Laduree is known for their confectionary concoctions rather than, well, makeup. I think it’s actually Korean or Japanese, because all of the packaging isn’t even primarily in French. This is the Powder Cheek Color in 04. The packaging is very pretty and would be adorable to display on your vanity. It’s not very travel friendly, though. The product comes with a cute little puffer, but I never actually use those. It also has a nice plastic divider so that the puff doesn’t have to rest right on the product’s sifter. The blush is fairly sheer, and it took me awhile to build up that swatch. The color is gorgeous though; it’s a rosey-coral that I think will be solid for summer. As with the Bourjois products, this smells like straight-up floral perfume. Sensitive noses, beware. I believe this was around €30.

This was probably the most tourist-y thing I purchased during my time in Paris. This is the Lollipops’ Illuminating Pearls – and come on, the cityscape and Eiffel Tower packaging was just too sweet to resist. I was actually fairly excited about this product. It was around €12, which I didn’t think was too bad at all. These are illuminating beads akin to the coveted Guerlain Meteorites which are waaaaaay more expensive. The Lollipop version is a mix of peach, mint, and white shimmery beads. The swatch appears a little icy, but they actually work quite well on the skin. I think this would be suitable for any undertone, really. My favorite thing about this product is that it gives a glow rather than a disco ball effect. The shimmer that’s apparent in the container doesn’t transfer like chunky glitter to the skin. This will be especially stunning for summer. Definitely give it a go if you are in Paris and have been lusting after the Guerlain ones!

What did you think about these products? Let me know!

Thanks for reading!

xoxo Rebekah

  1. I only just purchased the illuminating pearls but I wonder do you only use it as highlight? Or do you use it for your full face? Because at first hand it seems like your face would looks so glittery.. :p Thanks in advance xx
