Hi everyone! I hope you all had a lovely Fourth of July. I spent it celebrating with my dad and my sister in Washington DC. It was a blast, except for the fact that it POURED all day on the 4th. We stood in the rain for two hours to catch the fireworks, but they were difficult to see because of how overcast it was. Nevertheless, I had a blast!
Today I’ve got a post about the ever-so splurge-worthy Guerlain Meteorites. I snagged these in New York upon recommendation from my grandmother, who is just as obsessed with makeup as I am. Sephora stores don’t carry Guerlain in the Pittsburgh area (at least the ones near me), and I hesitate to purchase such expensive items online. I like to be able to test them out first.
While these are a pretty penny – $62 – there’s so much product that it will last you for years. It’s definitely an investment. These little pearls of powder are essentially the original Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders. It’s an illuminating powder that’s supposed to blur and soften imperfections of the face, whether that’s fine lines, discoloration, large pores, etc. It’s one of those magic products where you can’t tell that you’re wearing anything, but your skin looks much smoother and brighter. They’re available in three shades, but I chose the lightest Clair 02. They also have a slight perfume-y scent to them, but it’s nothing noticeable once you apply it (not anywhere near Bourjois products).
To apply, I swirl my powder brush in the container to make sure that I pick up some color from each of the little pearls. These aren’t really that pigmented color-wise, so don’t be scared of getting too much green or purple on your brush. It won’t show up like that on your face. Then, I just apply it all over the face using a sweeping, circular motion. My skin looks instantly more alive when I use this product. I absolutely love them.
Not to mention the case is absolutely beautiful. You could stick this on your vanity and have it do double-duty as a face powder and a decoration. For $62, I’m glad it’s got the ability to do both.
Have you tried the Guerlain Meteorites?
