One of my favorite things about summer every year is going on vacation with my family to the sunny South. After the harsh winters that living in Pittsburgh tends to bring, followed by the chilly and rainy springs, we all look forward to spending a week (or two) somewhere below the Mason-Dixon line. Whether its the North Carolina coast, the heart of Florida, or the islands off of Georgia, I fall in love year after year with this beautiful part of our country and can’t help but come visit again.
Things are different in the south, too. Tea is sweeter. The sun is hotter. People walk, and talk, slower. Life is enjoyed as if there are 50 hours in a day instead of just 24, without the “go, go, go” mentality that seems to be in full effect everywhere else. It’s refreshing.
That idea of living is embodied in the style of the south: classic pearls, personalized monograms, flowy sundresses, cowgirl boots. Bright colors and patterns. Finish off any outfit with curls and lipstick, and you’ll fit right in with the other southern belles.
Here are two outfits inspired by the gorgeous south. While I paired these with some Jack Rogers-esque sandals (perfect for the shoreline), they can also be topped off with a pair of rugged cowgirl boots. King Ranch Saddle Shop makes some absolutely beautiful pairs of cowgirl boots for women and men. They also have some lovely riding boots which would be the perfect southern touch heading into fall.
I think brown leather cowgirl boots would pair best with both of these outfits, which would be perfect for any vacation or even a nice summer outdoor concert. Below are my favorites from the King Ranch Saddle Shop!
