A Life Moment – Pinterest Strawberry Lemonade Cupcakes

Hi everyone!

Every week my friends and I meet up to watch one of our favorite television shows, Pretty Little Liars. I honestly wouldn’t recommend watching it. The first season is pretty good, but it only goes downhill from there. By the time you realize the show is crappy though, you’re hooked on finding out who A is. We’ve invested too much of our lives in this show to stop watching before its over for good, and getting together to laugh at the ridiculousness of it all makes it better.

But where there are friends, there’s always food! This week I tried my hand at this Pinterest recipe, and I have to say, I think the Strawberry Lemonade Cupcakes turned out pretty well. One of my favorite things to write about for my university’s paper during the school year is baking, so I thought I’d share this here!

These cupcakes were delicious and refreshing. The combo of the strawberry cupcake and lemonade frosting is the perfect match for summertime (especially since it’s been like 1000 degrees in Pittsburgh lately). What made me laugh though is that this recipe seems straight out of 1950. It uses Koolaid packets, Jell-O pudding mix, CoolWhip. All kinds of things I imagine a 50s wife tossing together in a bowl to come up with something in a snap. Maybe I’m just used to baking things from scratch.

I think these would be great for any summer get together: cookout, family picnic, graduation party, etc. Plus these only take like 30 minutes to make in total, so they’re great for a last-minute dessert.

Check out the recipe here if you want to make the cupcakes yourself!

What’s your favorite thing to bake?

Thanks for reading!

xoxo Rebekah
