This plaid shirt is my new obsession. It comes in a few other colors, and I’m seriously considering getting the blue one as well. The fabric is sooo soft, the fit is perfect (not too fitted, not too slouchy), and it’s a classic buffalo check that goes with everything. I have an embarrassing amount of flannels, but they make for the easiest fall outfits. Throw one on with some denim, add a few accessories, lace up some boots, and you’re done. They’re great for those mornings when you tear through your closet in a panic because you can’t find anything to wear, and they always look effortless and chic.
Remember the Free People skirt I was raving about in this post? I caved and bought it in another color, that’s how much I love it. I think the black is super versatile, and it’s an edgier piece that I don’t already have in my wardrobe. As you all probably know, I tend to lean toward more classic pieces, but something about this mini skirt was just calling my name. You can’t ignore it when something like that calls your name, right? Unfortunately, it sold out (it was only $20 so I can imagine why), but the Topshop option I linked above is as equally rock n’ roll if it’s something you’re in the market for.
How awesome are these ankle boots? I’ve been eyeing them forever at work. They’re from the annual summer Coachella collection H&M does each summer, so they’re unfortunately unavailable right now, but I’d been watching very closely for them to finally go on sale. I got them for just $15 (less after my discount, #blessed) instead of the original $50. They’re not something I would typically gravitate toward, but I think they’re going to work with a surprising amount of outfits. I love how they look with the skirt, and I think they’re going to be just fab with some ankle jeans and a slouchy sweater. Plus, sometimes you’ve just got to switch it up and go outside your comfort zone.
All in all, I can see myself living in variations of this outfit throughout the fall. Throw on a pair of tights and I’m set (although I think that’s becoming my catchphrase, and I really need to work on switching it up lol. But it’s so true!).
